My husband and I should PCS to Moody at the end of Feb or the beginning of march. I was wondering what everyone thinks of the on base housing? Would you recommend living on base of off? I will be having my first baby at the end of Feb, so we will be moving there with a newborn and I am not sure if we would be better off living on base or off. My husband is new to the Air Force so would we even get a nice house on base? Has anyone had any experiece with the temporary base housing when they got there, if so how is that? If we were to buy a house there, is the market good there when you go to sell? Any info on housing would be appreciated. Thanks

The base houses are very small and out dated not to mention I have heard the waiting list is very long. There are a lot of places to rent in the area or if you are ready to buy a house, this is not a place that has been too adversely affected by the housing down turn. I would also base buying a house on how long you believe you will be here. The TLF is pretty nice here, I heard there is even a washer and dryer in your room which is awesome especially with a small baby. Congratulations on the baby and we look forward to meeting you when you get here.
